Exclusive Interview of TV Host Jillian Barberie

There are numerous morning TV shows on Los Angeles television; however Good Day L.A. on Fox 11 stands out from the rest for the reason being smart, savvy and sassy Canadian native host, Jillian Barberie.

Jillian was on the tv show weather forecasting in her dazzling long locks and the finest clothing. She also developed the “Adopt a Pet” & “Style File” segment for morning slot of the channel. She also did Fox NFL pre-game show with Curt Menefee, Howie Long and Terry Bradshaw for almost a decade during those times.

She has appeared on multiple other shows as an actor and the host. Jillian Barberie is also the brand ambassador for Nutrisystem and Too Faced Cosmetics.

People of Los Angeles can hear her now on “Mid-Day L.A. with Jillian Barberie and John Phillips” talk show from Monday through Friday at 12 pm to 3 pm at KABC 790 Radio.

Here is an (as is) exclusive interview by Stephanie Stephens of TV host Jillian Barberie on how to stay inspiringly beautiful and happening.

  • Stephanie Stephens: How do you Mind Your Body with.. what you eat?
Jillian Barberie: I am really big into juicing, but no beets, carrots or apples. Put them into a Vitamix machine and they turn to sugar. I use kale and anything green except those green apples, so I include celery, cucumber, cilantro, lemon and Himalayan salt which doesn't retain water. It's a habit, but I eat dinner at 5 p.m. with my two kids each night. We eat pasta, chicken or fish, salads, rice or potatoes and go to bed early. I drink Penta ultra purified water. I don't deprive myself but am very conscientious about what I put in my body. I haven’t been sick in a long time.
  • Stephanie Stephens: What do you do for physical activity?
Jillian Barberie: I don't really. When I did Skating with Celebrities in 2006 I worked out for 11 weeks and lost my womanly curves-boobs and butt. Now I walk my dogs, and I might do yoga-good for Mind, Body and soul.
  • Stephanie Stephens: About your look - it’s always so together. How do you do that?
Jillian Barberie: I am on HSN once a month with Too Faced cosmetics. The company wanted a woman who looked natural. The average age of HSN female shoppers is 55. I think those women believe me. I believe in looking good without surgery, not bloating your face with fillers. I am really honest with women and I share what its like to be on the red carpet—putting on your gown with kids there, and doing your own makeup. Its not brain surgery: You can do it!
  • Stephanie Stephens: How do you look after your mental health? Sure seems like you have a great outlook on life. You're practical and you're funny.
Jillian Barberie: I have struggled with the things in life like my marriage unraveling and my favorite job coming to an end. It was fight or flight, even auditioning with two little kids—I was pregnant at 40 and 42. Now Ruby is age 7 and Rocko is age 4. I made it through the storm and thought “This is about me, not anyone else.” What’s my responsibility in all this? How can I improve myself? I’m also one of those Women Who Love Too Much, from the book of the same name.
  • Stephanie Stephens: Jillian, I really miss you on the morning show.
Jillian Barberie: I would have stayed there forever. I loved that job so much.
  • Stephanie Stephens: All that Red Carpet hosting, all those stars who'd spent all day-and probably days before-getting "perfect". You always look so fabulous, but how did that impact your self-image? Do you feel you had to "keep up"?
Jillian Barberie: I have to stay true to Jillian. I come home to my ranch house, my sanctuary and it’s my peace. I have normal friends, very international from Mexico, Greece, Iran and Spain. When I have to be on, I can be on but I don’t get caught up on it. I wouldn't want to be a huge star with swarms of people coming up to try and talk to me.
  • Stephanie Stephens: What do you tell your children about health and living healthy? How’re they doing?
Jillian Barberie: I try to lead by example. I ate salmon at age 1, veggies at age 2. It's easy to be tempted to get lazy, fast food when the kids have soccer or t-ball. I want them to eat healthy and no junk. We love our swimming pool and use it every day.
  • Stephanie Stephens: Tell us about your family.
Jillian Barberie: I was adopted into an amazing family, and I hired a detective to find my birth family. My dad is from Lithuania and my mom from Ireland. This summer I went back to Canada where the two families met. It was a huge, wonderful party! I am so blessed, and it made me see how lucky and fortunate I am. These people all came together.
  • Stephanie Stephens: I support cat rescue. You’ve done so much to help animals. What animals share your life now?
Jillian Barberie: I started the pet adoptions on Fox and I am glad they keep doing that every day. Here at home, my cat plays with one of my dogs. Kitty von Meow-Meow plays with Rosie the terrier. I also have a Yorkie named Duke.
  • So glad you shared your life with us. We’ll keep expecting more great things from the Jillian Barberie in near future.
